Giving Animals as Presents - Brought to you by Ideal Bite
Gifts that Bite
The Bite:
Can a present leave the wrong kind of mark? It can if you give someone a pet they didn't ask for this holiday season. Instead, make a symbolic animal adoption in your giftee's name. It's a present with some real teeth.
The Benefits:
- Save some animals by donating the money you would've given to adopt the pet, and instead symbolically adopt an animal (donations go to preserving habitat, keeping shelters open, and more).
- No false "thank you" through gritted teeth from a new pet parent who didn't want to be one. (Plus, most petowners like to pick out their own pets - and puppy is a 15-year commitment.)
- The holidays are busy between cooking, travel, and events - the new year's probably a better time to deal with training and scooping out the litter.
