It's All About You
As summer draws to a close, the days are getting a bit shorter and cooler, and we all prepare in some way for the change in seasons. Energy consumption tends to increase during the darker, colder winter months and as such it is doubly important now to remember why supporting renewables as a viable source of energy is critical.
As a Renewable Choice customer, you've been supporting wind power for some time now, and we want you to know that your commitment is making a difference. 2008 saw the greatest increase ever in U.S. wind power capacity--enough to power over two million homes--thanks in part to the powerful choice you've made to support this clean, renewable source of energy with the purchase of your home wind power plan.
The economic downturn has slowed growth this year, but new renewable energy incentives and increasing market demand means wind power is poised to make a strong recovery. As Congress works on passing historic climate change legislation, your choice to support wind power sends a strong message to our leaders that it is high time to improve the way energy is produced in our country.
In 2008 Renewable Choice partnered with wind farms in 13 states; by supporting these farms you've helped to increase the amount of wind power going onto the electricity grid nationwide. This growth helps diversify our energy resources, reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, make the air we breathe cleaner, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions (the leading cause of global climate change).
Thank you again for your commitment and for helping wind farms grow!
We'd love to feature your story! Tell us why you choose wind!
