Greenbuild 2009 was a great success for all of the industry green professionals - learn about our own experience!
This was Renewable Choice Energy's first year as an exhibitor at the Greenbuild International Conference & Expo, and we're happy to be able to say that it was an all-round success and good time! Although we've been attending for the past 6 years, we've not had a booth before, which proved to be a far different experience than we've ever had. It helped us connect with those who are interested in our products and services that we otherwise probably wouldn't have run into, allowed us to communicate our company on a more productive level, and provided us with the opportunity to show our clients our appreciation with a complimentary happy-hour keg on Wednesday afternoon! If you didn't manage to make it by the booth this year, make sure to check us out in 2010 in Chicago!
Phoenix proved to be a fantastic venue for the conference (the climate was certainly more welcoming than Boston's was last year), and although the city has a long way to go before it can meet its goal of being "zero-carbon" - as stated by Mayor Phil Gordon - it's self-professed dedication to progressive solar initiatives and the implementation of minimum LEED requirements for new buildings in some areas certainly does pave a bright path into the future for Phoenix to become a "green" city.
Barring a few kinks - to put it lightly - in the lead retrieval system badge scanners that were being rented at this year's conference, everything seemed to go very smoothly. The Greenbuild folks are getting their conferences down to a fine art, as are the many, many, exhibitors who dazzled with elaborate booth setups and ingenious marketing schemes. If you've not attended the conference in the past, it is a must-do for green building professionals - from the educational sessions provided by the USGBC and attending industry leaders, to the vast opportunities to learn about a plethora of cutting-edge environmental products and services that are flooding the market, among many other chances to network and talk green - Greenbuild is an eye-opening experience.
