Renewable energy could provide all global energy needs by 2090.
By 2090 burning fossil fuels could be a thing of the past. A developed renewable energy industry could pull the world economy out of the current financial crisis and become a $360 billion business which will eliminate the need for fossil fuel consumption by 2090, a 210 page study says. The publication, compiled by the European Renewable Energy Council (EREC) and environmental group Greenpeace, gives a detailed analysis of how such a scenario could be achieved, with special attention given to its development between now and 2030. The report said renewable energy markets were booming with turnover almost doubling in 2007 from 2006 to more than $70 billion. >>Read More.
