Callaway Gardens, located outside of Atlanta, is much more than a beautiful resort.
It’s a destination for vacation or business that combines luxury, environmental responsibility and education. In addition to having a spa, golf, tennis, and year-round events and workshops, Callaway also focuses on the connection between man and nature. With 13,000 acres, a gardening school, environmental education programs and a network of hiking trails, the staff educates visitors and promotes the beautiful outdoors.
Here are a few examples of how this destination resort incorporates environmental responsibility.
- 100% electricity offset: for the entire property including its Fantasy in Lights winter event – open through December 30
- Hybrid cars: they offer special discounts to visitors that drive them
- Local fauna: is planted throughout the property to reduce water use
- Green Building: principles were incoporated into the Butterfly Center building and it was LEED certified
- Conservation tips: are followed and continually shared with visitors
