Senior Director of Business Development [show details]

Job Summary: Renewable Choice is one of the nation's leading renewable energy suppliers to U.S. corporations with a track record of innovation in defining the renewable energy marketplace. The company has a new and ground-breaking opportunity to transform the renewable energy industry and needs a high-level renewable energy professional looking to help address today's most pressing energy challenges.

This position is responsible for working with large multi-national corporations to find renewable energy solutions to fit their needs, in particular corporations looking to procure long-term power purchase agreements from renewable energy facilities.

Position Title: Senior Director of Business Development
Reports To: Vice President of Business Development
Compensation: DOE

Job Responsibilities:

Sales & Execution

  • Identify potential opportunities, vetting deals and managing complex transactions with multiple parties and ever-changing deliverables.
  • Ability to close transactions.
  • Oversee and manage a pipeline of client opportunities with large corporations.
  • Educate clients and the public about renewable energy and its benefits.
  • Participate in executive level decisions related to areas of expertise.
  • Work with the CFO to analyze and evaluate deals and make strategic and tactical decisions.
  • In conjunction with the Executive Team, develop target market and customer strategies.
  • Represent the company at various industry conferences, events, and sales meetings to promote the business.

Renewable Energy Development

  • Work with the Executive Team to develop new and compelling solutions for U.S. companies to contract for renewable energy supply through structured financial transactions and PPAs with Fortune 500 corporations.
  • Understand and define trends and opportunities in the renewable energy and corporate sustainability industries.
  • Support development of new carbon mitigation and renewable energy projects.

Primary Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated high-level competence in renewable energy development, understanding project finance and structures.
  • Ability to represent the company externally in high-level sales and consulting capacities, working with clients and helping meet their needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10 to 20 years in a professional capacity with increasing levels of responsibility, preferably in renewable energy development, sales or business development.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field is helpful but not required.
  • Excellence in verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to be personally motivated and to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting and negotiating.
  • Ability to adapt and respond to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Interest in or personal commitment to environmental sustainability.

Essential Functions:

  • Position requires frequent travel. Employee must be able to get to and from airports, travel comfortably for long distances, and operate a rental vehicle.
  • Position is responsible for giving off-site presentations and must be able to carry a laptop, projector, and other collateral on their person while traveling.
  • Position may require periodic evening or weekend hours commensurate with a senior position.

Environmental Commodities Trader [show details]

Position Title: Environmental Commodities Trader
Reports to: VP of Business Development
Compensation: DOE

Job Summary: Renewable Choice is seeking an Environmental Commodities Trader to work in its Boulder, Colorado headquarters. Renewable Choice is one of the nation's leading renewable energy and carbon offset suppliers to U.S. corporations with a track record of innovation in defining the environmental commodity marketplace. The company continues to expand, increasing market share and expanding into new environmental markets, and needs a high-level professional looking to help address today's most pressing energy challenges.

This position is responsible for working with project developers, energy brokers, utilities and other traders to find renewable energy credits (RECs), verified emission reductions (VERS, or carbon offsets), and other environmental products to meet the needs of our clients. The person in this position will be responsible for interacting with Renewable Choice's sales team to assess and deliver unique solutions for clients both from domestic and international projects. The position will further be expected to identify and execute profitable wholesale transactions in various environmental markets. This position will report to the Vice President of Business Development and work directly with the Director of Resource Development and the Vice President of Sales.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential suppliers of RECs and VERs and negotiate trades.
  • Ability to close transactions.
  • Oversee and manage a pipeline of deals and a portfolio of differentiated supply.
  • Ability to understand and manage risk.
  • Educate clients and the public about renewable energy and its benefits.

  • Represent the company at various industry conferences, events, and sales meetings to promote the business.

Primary Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated competence in energy or commodities trading, environmental commodity experience preferred.
  • Ability to develop and manage relationships with Renewable Choice's partners to accomplish organizational objectives.
  • Demonstrated capability of self-motivation, producing high call-volume and organized follow-up to close transactions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 to 10 years in a professional capacity with increasing levels of responsibility, in trading or procurement.
  • Excellence in verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to be personally motivated and to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
  • Knowledge of contracting and negotiating.
  • Diligent attention to detail and experience with large-dollar contracts.
  • Ability to adapt and respond to a rapidly changing environment.

Position Title: Financial Analyst
Reports to: CFO

Job Summary: Renewable Choice is seeking Financial Analyst to work in its Boulder, Colorado headquarters. Renewable Choice is one of the nation's leading renewable energy suppliers to U.S. corporations with a track record of innovation in defining the renewable energy marketplace. The company continues to expand, increasing market-share and expanding into new environmental markets, and needs a qualified analyst to support financial transactions, modeling, and analysis.

This position is responsible for conducting analysis for energy development projects and sales and expense plans; reconciling monthly sales commissions and current and project commodity sales; budget tracking and reporting; and financial auditing. The position reports directly to the CFO, but will interface with multiple departments in the execution of duties.

Job Responsibilities will include:

  • Performing net present value (NPV) analysis of energy development projects
  • Cost/benefit analytics for various sales and expense plans
  • Executing and delivering on monthly sales commissions
  • Managing commodity positions and reconciling them with current and projected sales
  • Support the development and tracking of internal department budgets
  • Support finance team on commodity and financial audits

Primary Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated strength in analysis with the ability to create interactive analytics for executive level decision-making
  • Ability to build comprehensive financial models to support business development and sales in rapidly changing environmental commodity market

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or economics; MBA is desirable
  • 2-5 years direct experience in financial analysis
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical thought processing and independent problem solving skills
  • Familiarity with GAAP accounting
  • Ability to build comprehensive NPV and other financial models
  • Excellence in verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to present complicated financial information to a variety of audiences
  • Knowledge of contracting and negotiating
