We recently became partners with CORE to support their Catalyst program, an innovative and collaborative approach to sustainability consulting and education.
CORE Catalyst is a program that matches teams of talented graduate students from Colorado universities with CORE member companies to jumpstart the sustainability process. Project teams, consisting of four MBA students, perform a preliminary business sustainability assessment. This consists of the widely respected B Impact Assessment and various GHG calculators to collect quantitative and qualitative data, and recommend high-ROI action steps.
The companies, who have completed the project, have enjoyed up to 400 collective volunteer hours resulting in “intelligent thought and energy” brought by student teams. The project deliverables include a final presentation to a management team, a report, and support documents to equip companies and encourage them to continue their sustainability journey. Project past participants include: Best USA Inc., Clifton Larsen Allen, Door to Door Organics, Eco Products, Green House Data, Geological Society of America, Ireland Stapleton Pryor & Pascoe, PC, McKinstry, MyChelle Dermaceuticals, PCL Construction, ProtoTest, Rally Software, Saunders Construction, and Shaw Construction.
If your company has at least 25 employees and is located between Colorado Springs and Fort Collins, you are eligible for participating in the CORE Catalyst project! The only cost to participate is a 2-year membership at CORE. Learn more.
“When our company was seeking a solution to manage our overall carbon footprint, we discovered the CORE Catalyst program. Given our budget targets and time constraints, we chose this option to jump start employee engagement in this arena. The MBA team and the support of the Leeds School of Business was excellent. Our experience was nothing short of professional and courteous, and the students were well aware of our business needs and brought solutions accordingly. I highly recommend partnering with CORE, not only for this opportunity, but also in an ongoing basis.”

“Working with the DU`s Net Impact MBA students through the Catalyst Program on an internal sustainability assessment for our organization proved to be a win-win effort. It motivated us to put into place ideas we have accumulated over the past year, and conducting the B-Impact Assessment was a helpful tool and benchmark for gauging our impact and identifying areas of improvement. The students were extremely professional and organized and we really appreciated them volunteering their precious time to help us with this effort – they also seemed to learn a lot through the program!”
