Renewable Choice client, West Des Moines’ Historic City Hall earns LEED Platinum certification.

The historic building has the added distinction of being the first building in Iowa to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places and earn LEED platinum certification.

West Des Moines’ Historic City Hall has earned the highest possible
designation for sustainability from the U.S. Green Building Council, a
“platinum” rating for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
(LEED).

Historic City Hall, located at 137 Fifth St., became so
efficient with the sustainability improvements that in April 2012, the
first full month of net metering, the building’s total energy use was
305 kilowat hours, costing $30.54
